Leo has this way of saying "Okay!" when he wants something or wants to do something. It is not a request or a question...it does not go up in pitch. He says it immediately after voicing his request, in a higher pitch, with an agreeable, overly enthusiastic tone, as if he is agreeing to something that one of his parents has suggested...as if he is humoring us...as if he is trying to convince us that he is agreeing with something that WE, not HE, suggested.

It's a mimic of the way that I say "Okay!" when I'm agreeing to something that he wants. He often repeats it and if we tell him, "No, we're not going to Starbucks today," he'll say it again (Starbucks Okay!!!!) louder and slightly frantically.

In other Leo news, he is "reciting" the alphabet and "counting." He loves to "sing" the alphabet along with me but if he is singing it by himself he usually skips from P to W. The song always ends with a great, loud flourish on "ZEEEEEEE!" He knows most of the numbers up to 20, though he can't quite count all of them in order (6 is often skipped, the teens are iffy) but he can name them if I write them out, one at a time, in random order. Definitely 1-14. 15-20 usually need a little help. Except for 18, which he always gets. (Months ago he had something with "18" on it, a toy or something, long gone now, and he just has never forgotten it.)
He is a funny kid. He is funny all day long. He loves to make us laugh and does stuff deliberately to make other people laugh. We were at our friends' house last week - James (Leo's age) and Jackie (his mama) - and Leo was holding up these little toy glasses with red lenses. He was looking through them, from one of us to the other, waving, and shouting, "Hi Mama! Hi Jackie! Hi James!" at each of us when he looked at us. He did something similar the other day - he and I were running around outside in our neighborhood around dusk, and he saw his shadow and started waving at it and saying, "Hi Baby!" Then he waved at mine and said "Hi Mama!" He often refers to himself as "Baby," probably because I still call him that. :)
Oh my gosh. . . My TT does the same thing! It's like she is trying to convince me like she just said something super profound and I should go along with it. Too funny. :)
